Canon IUPF6400S Large Printer Overview
The imagePROGRAF iPF6400S, 24-inch large format printer was designed for professionals in the commercial photography, signage display, reprographic and proofing markets that seek the highest possible standards for quality-control and image reproduction, while maximizing productivity. A large color spectrum is produced by the 8-Color LUCIA EX pigment ink set, which also provides scratch resistance and smoother gradations. The enhanced Multi-sensor allows for the printer to calibrate back to factory settings, and is included with this printer to help provide improved color density detection. A Color Calibration Management System allows for color calibration targets to be created using the iPF6400S printer with optional spectrophotometer and shared across all new iPFX400S 8-Color printers, while the included software allows for all printers on the network to be monitored from one central location. The printer supports ink tank sizes of 130ml and for the first time, 300ml, and the new Sub-ink tank system keeps some ink in reserve to allow for tanks to be changed without interrupting a print. The iPF6400S printer is also equipped with a 250GB hard drive, geared to help increase productivity in high volume printing and streamlined workflows, while allowing for fast processing of large files as well as the ability to reprint jobs directly from the printer.
As an optional add-on to the iPF6400S printer, the SU-21 Spectrophotometer features a scan speed of up to 10 inches per second and can accommodate media of different thicknesses (Canon or non-Canon branded) thanks to the device's mobile carriage which opens and closes automatically. The device attaches directly onto the front of the iPF6400S printer and includes a user-switchable UV blocking filter that can be switched on and off according to paper type, eliminating the need to purchase individual sensors.
To expand printing options and capabilities, the iPF6400S printer comes bundled with Canon's PosterArtist Lite software for easy poster creation, and an Accounting Manager tool that helps keep track of job cost. Also included is a Print Plug-in for Microsoft Office and a Print Plug-in for Adobe Photoshop, which includes an Adjustment Pattern Setting that allows for multiples of an image to be printed at once with different color values implemented and displayed. Gallery wrap-ready prints can now be created using the included Gallery Wrap Feature, found in the imagePROGRAF Layout Tool. To improve versatility, the iPF6400S has a media configuration tool which allows customers to not only utilize existing Canon-branded media, but also with non-Canon branded media. The iPF6400S is built to get things done. Its high-capacity, 300ml ink tank requires fewer ink changes, while hot swap ink tanks allow ink to be replaced without interrupting the printing process. An automatic email alert lets you know when it’s time to change ink tanks, replace media or notifies you when a job has finished. With the latest software included free, you’ll have all the support you need for high productivity from the outset. A built-in 250GB HDD enables large print jobs to be stored easily, while Gigabit Ethernet connectivity allows data to be transferred fast - even when managing high print volumes.
Versatile printing
The iPF6400S comes equipped with an array of features to ensure great results for a variety of large format printing needs. Canon’s unique colour calibration feature uses a built-in colour density sensor to optimise print output throughout the large format range. An optional spectrophotometer unit provides rapid colour measurement and schedulable colour checking, which allows for convenient and stringent quality control across all jobs.
